Zak new App on the way!

Dear WuBookers,

After months of dedicated effort, the Zak team is excited to announce the Beta release of Zak's new mobile app.
We've put in a lot of work to enhance your experience on smartphones. By putting ourselves in your shoes, we've studied how you typically use the app and introduced many new features and changes.

We decided against simply shrinking Zak for smaller screens as it wouldn't have been user-friendly enough for touch screen use on smartphones. Our goal isn't to replace the desktop version of Zak with the mobile app.
Instead, we aimed higher: we completely revamped the old app, focusing on essential features for managing tasks away from your facility. Now, you can carry Zak with you in your pocket :)

Here’s the rundown:
We understand that big changes can be challenging. That’s why the old Zak app will remain available for now. You can install both apps simultaneously, giving you time to adjust.

This new release is packed with changes and features. Here are the main ones:

  • New Reservation: We've completely redesigned the reservation creation process. It’s now quicker and easier to finalize a reservation. We've added new features not present in the old app, such as integration with the Zym yield manager, honoring table restrictions, and, inspired by our booking engine, flexible dates. Once you select dates and occupancy, the app will show you all possible options sorted by price.
  • Booking Detail: We’ve greatly improved the reservation details based on your feedback to enhance the overall experience without sacrificing usability. You can now manage extras, meals, and payments directly through the app, and change cancellation policies and reservation guarantees.

  • Guest Hub: Accessible from the reservation details, this section lets you manage all guests in a reservation. You can fill out guest registries (even using document scans) and have guests sign the registration form.

  • Zak Team: Many requested this feature. If you've enabled Zak Team in your account, it will automatically be available in the mobile app, allowing for user management and permissions.

  • Kalena: This new feature replaces the traditional planner with a mobile-friendly tool. Kalena offers a detailed calendar designed to display availability, reservations, and closures at your facility. You can also create and move reservations directly within Kalena.

  • Sytar/Tabla: These features have been updated for a better mobile experience. We've brought back the "eagle view" from the desktop version, allowing you to zoom into individual products to see detailed pricing and availability.

  • Notification Center: Keep track of all your missed push notifications, so you’re always up to date.

There’s more to explore, like the new dashboard and upcoming features that will allow the mobile app to serve as an extension of Zak desktop. For instance, at the front desk and need to scan a document? Simply use Zak to send a notification to the app, and you can scan the document directly.

How to Download:
The beta is available for both Android and iOS users. For iOS, download it via TestFlight. For Android, find it directly in the Play Store. Here are the download links:
