Feedback on Google Metasearch Integration – Price Parity Limitations
#1
Hi everyone,

I wanted to share some feedback regarding the current Google Metasearch integration, which I’ve already discussed with our regional manager, but I believe it’s worth posting here as well for broader visibility.

In countries where price parity is still being enforced, the current integration doesn’t really help drive direct bookings effectively. Since we’re required to display the same rates as all OTAs, we end up at a disadvantage. While those adhere to the same base pricing shown on search results, they can apply gated discounts (e.g., Genius) once the user lands on their site - discounts that are fully compliant with parity rules.

Unfortunately, the Zak booking module doesn’t currently support any similar functionality for gated offers. This means we’re unable to compete with these gated discounts, and the final direct price for Metasearch landings often appears less competitive compared to OTAs.

There’s also no way to have a different price displayed in Google search results vs rates shown in the module itself for Metasearch landings. This could have been an easy alternative to gated discounts as OTAs usually use screenshots from Google Metasearch for daily rate comparisons and don't look much further unless someone complains.

Would love to hear if others are facing the same, or if there are any planned improvements around this.

Thanks!
